2014 KIA Kick A Thon

June 30, 2014 5:02 PM | James Stuber (Administrator)

On June 1,2014 about 75 KIA Students Instructors and family members gathered for the  annual KIA Kick A Thon

picnic at North Chagrin Park in Willoughby Hills Ohio. The Kick off began at 11 am followed by the cook out and our annual tug of war contest between the parents and the kids. Each year the kids challenge the parents and usually win but not this year the parents were in a competitive mood and took the first couple of matches before the kids pulled one out with the help of Sensei Brown. Megan from Make A Wish Foundation kicked along with our adults and did a great job. KIA sponsored her a $1.00 per kick. Megan helped raise over $300.00 with that sponsorship  from KIA.

Only half of our group were able to attend the picnic with Graduation parties and vacations planned others will kick later but they still were able to contribute to the cause.

Our wish child is Marissa from the local area and her wish is to visit the most haunted house in America. That happens to be the Winchester Mystery House in California which is where she is headed on her wish thanks to all the students , Sponsors and instructors with the Karate Institute of America. GREAT JOB AGAIN.

On Behalf of the KIA Board of Directors we would like to Thank All of you for making these wishes come true.

We will post pictures of Marissa's wish when we get the pictures from her wish trip.
